By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (October 15, 2009) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 40 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Thursday, October 15, 2009: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are 3 of them!

Bonus Pick:
MLB Baseball Playoffs
Phillies at Dodgers in game one.

2. Survivor: Samoa (new)
Program descript: "

CBS, 8 p.m.

3. The Vampire Diaries (new)
CW, the network for the saucy set, tries to ride the Twilight wave with this new series about studly vampires and the obligatory hot chicks they seduce. Tonight's program descript says: "
Damon takes control of Vicki's future." Dear God, in just three episodes, that poor Vicki has been attacked by a vampire; had a relationship issue with a vampire; and now a vampire wants to control her future. I would suggest she move anywhere but...Bon Temps, Louisiana.
CW, 8 p.m.

4
. Bones (new)
Program descript: "
Brennan and Booth investigate what appear to be charred human remains on an electrical fence." Now there's a real HD 'Hottie' for you.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Emily Deschanel.
Fox, 8 p.m.

5. Fringe (new)
J.J. Abrams' second favorite wackfest continues to confound and confuse (exactly -- just like Lost.) Tonight, the program descript says: "In Seattle the team investigates a man's attack on his boss, who he thought was a ram-horned demon." Oh, cut him some slack. Afterall, who hasn't had that thought from time to time...
Fox, 9 p.m.

The docs and nurses prepare for the big hospital merger between Mercy West and Seattle Grace.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Katherine Heigl
