By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (November 19, 2009) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 40 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Thursday, November 19, 2009: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are 5 of them!

1
. College Basketball Doubleheader
California vs. Syracuse, followed by North Carolina vs. Ohio State.
ESPN 2, 7 p.m.

2. College Football

Colorado at Oklahoma State.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Erin Andrews.
ESPN, 7:30 p.m.

3. NBA Basketball
Phoenix at New Orleans.
TNT, 8 p.m.

Bonus Pick:
NFL Football
Miami at Carolina.
NFL Network, 8 p.m.

4. The Vampire Diaries (new)
CW, the network for the saucy set, tries to ride the Twilight wave with this new series about studly vampires and the obligatory hot chicks they seduce. Tonight's program descript says: "Vampires Damon and Stefan find they have some competition to deal with." Yeah, no kidding; it's called Twilight: New Moon, which opens this week in theaters.
CW, 8 p.m.

5. Survivor (new)
Program descript: "A clever castaway jeopardizes the success of a scheme to ensure safety in the game." Oh, no, we wouldn't want safety in a reality show, would we? What's the fun (read: ratings) of that?

CBS, 8 p.m.

Bonus Pick:
Bones
Program descript: "Brennan and Booth investigate human remains found by a real estate agent." What they don't say is that the agent still tried to talk the human remains into buying the house; hey, tough market, you know. "You'll love the place; people are dying to get in there."
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Emily
Deschanel.
Fox, 8 p.m.

6. The Office (new)
Michael is invited to a company shareholders meeting.
NBC, 9 p.m.

Bonus Pick:
Fringe
J.J. Abrams' second favorite wackfest is back with new episodes. Tonight, the Fringe team learns more about that mysterious bald man who's causing so many unexplained occurrences. No, not Ben Bernanke; a different mysterious bald man who's causing so many unexplained occurrences.
Fox, 9 p.m.

7. Grey's Anatomy (new)
Program descript: "
Mark and Lexie must cope with the arrival of a woman from his past." If this were a CW show, it would be threesome time!
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Katherine Heigl
ABC, 9 p.m.

8. The Jay Leno Show (new)
Jay Leno, better known as Jeff Zucker's Hail Mary Pass, tonight chats up Dakota Fanning who wanders by to hawk her new film, the aforementioned New Moon.
NBC, 10 p.m.

Bonus Picks:
Showgirls
Elizabeth Berkley and Gina Gershon star in arguably the most gratuitous display of female flesh and lesbian lust that's ever come out of mainstream Hollywood. While the plot pretends to be about a young dancer (Berkley) whose fantasy is to hit the big time in a Las Vegas revue, it's really about making director Paul
Verhoeven and wacked-out screenwriter Joe Eszterhas' fantasies come true. The acting is cheesy; the plot beyond absurd; but if you're a guy -- or a lesbian -- you won't turn your head from the screen for a half second.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Gina Gershon.
Cinemax, 10 p.m.

NBA Basketball
The Bulls visit the Lakers.
TNT, 10:30 p.m.

9. Late Night With David Letterman (new)
Tonight's guests include Stephen Colbert who will wander by to hawk his Comedy Central show among other things.
CBS, 11:35 p.m.

10. The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien (new)
Tonight's guests include Nicole Kidman who will wander by to hawk her new film, Nine.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Nicole Kidman.
NBC, 11:35 p.m.
