Additionally, DVR rival Moxi, which is now owned by ARRIS, recently announced that it's slashing the price of its two-tuner HD DVR from $799 to $499; a three-tuner HD DVR is priced at $799.

Unlike TiVo's HD DVR, the Moxi does not require a monthly or annual subscription fee.
