-- DIRECTV says recording problems with its TiVo HD DVR
-- and other TiVo DVRs -- can be fixed with a simple
reboot.
TVPredictions.com reported in early January that many DIRECTV-TiVo owners had been complaining that the combo recorder was failing to record shows and mysteriously deleting programs previously recorded.
The satcaster told News.com on January 12 that the problem had been solved with an upgrade. But some DIRECTV-TiVo owners have posted messages since then at TiVoCommunity.com that the devices are still not recording certain programs, particularly ones set with TiVo's 'Season Pass' feature.
However, DIRECTV spokesman Robert Mercer told TVPredictions.com today that "a reboot will clean it up and the unit will start recording again."
The original problem apparently began in mid-December, according to posters at the TiVo Community Forum.
