While Samsung still dominates
in overall flat-screen sales (it makes Plasma and LCD), Vizio
has provided a serious challenge in the LCD category. Vizio was
the leading seller of LCD TVs in 2009 in the U.S., according to
iSuppli, with Samsung second.
Panasonic
'Ultra-Fast Loading' Blu-ray Player: $127
Sony (10.9 percent; finished third), LG (8.8 percent, fourth)
and Sanyo (6.9 percent, fifth) trailed the top two LCD sellers
in this year's second quarter.
iSuppli reported that U.S. LCD HDTV shipments rose 12.8 percent
in the second quarter, compared to this year's first quarter.
