Feb. 3: Swanni's 10 Hottest Shows In HDTV!

By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (February 3, 2009) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 30 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Tuesday, February 3, 2009: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are seven of them!

1. We Are Marshall
Matthew McConaughey stars as the coach of the Marshall University football team which had to rebuild after a tragic plane crash that killed most of the squad. McConaughey restrains himself for a change and Matthew Fox turns in a solid supporting performance as an assistant coach. Based on the real life story, the film delivers the emotional goods. January Jones (Mad Men) and Kate Mara (granddaughter of the New York Giants owner) play the obligatory hot wife and girlfriend/cheerleader respectively.

HBO West, 6:45 p.m.

2. College Basketball
Purdue at Ohio State.
ESPN, 7 p.m.

3. 90210 (new)
No, it's not the average number of people who watch a CW show. It's everyone's frothy fave from the 1990s, now all grown up and with a new cast of teen idols. Tonight,
Annie (Shenae Grimes) and Ethan's relationship hits the rocks when he spends more time with Rhonda. Well, that'll do it.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of 90210's Shenae Grimes.
CW, 8 p.m.

4. American Idol (new)
They're back for a new season and they have a new judge -- Kara
DioGuardi, a Grammy-nominated songwriter. Tonight, round one in Hollywood which means Simon will have to be a little nicer.
Fox, 8 p.m.

5. Dan Rather Reports (new)
The veteran newsman investigates a new series of laws that gives Americans the right to use deadly force to defend their property. Hmm, wonder if we could use them to stop a certain web site from stealing our stories...
HDNet, 8 p.m.

6. College Basketball
South Carolina at Florida.
ESPN, 9 p.m.

7
. Fringe (new)
Program descript: "T
he team finds freakish remains at the crash site of an international jumbo jet." Guess that Sully guy can't fly all the planes.
Fox, 9 p.m.

8. The L Word
What happened to Jenny's movie script? And, perhaps more important, what will happen to poor Jenny (Mia Kirshner) who's gotten the Joe Gillis treatment this season.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of The L's Mia KIrshner
Showtime, 10 p.m.

9
. Without a Trace (new)
Program descript: "
The team searches for two women who were abducted in broad daylight."  Shouldn't that be the team searches for two broads who were abducted in broad daylight? Catchier, isn't it? And more politically incorrect...
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of WAT's Poppy Montgomery.

CBS, 10 p.m.

10. The Tonight Show With Jay Leno (new)
Tonight's guest: Penelope Cruz wanders by to hawk her Oscar nomination in Vicky Christina Barcelona. (Her favorite low-cut dress will be out in force tonight!; got to get those Oscar votes from the perv crowd, you know.)
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Penelope Cruz.
CBS, 11:35 p.m.
