By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (May 11, 2010) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 40 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Tuesday, May 11, 2010: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are 10 of them!

1. NBA Playoffs
Celtics at Cavs in game five.
TNT, 8 p.m.

2. Dancing With the Stars
(new)
America's favorite dancing soap opera continues with a B celebrity lineup overflowing with such has-beens and wanna-bes as Reality TV addict Kate Gosselin, 90210's Shannen Doherty; the incredibly sagging Pamela Anderson; soap opera star Aiden Turner; ESPN page-view machine Erin Andrews, Pussycat doll Nicole Scherzinger and Buzz Aldrin (!). Tonight, the remaining five contestants will perform -- and one more contestant will be eliminated. Oh, the humanity! Speaking of humanity, this season is co-hosted by the bodacious (and alliterative) Brooke Burke, a former DWTS winner. And there's more! The Gipsy Kings will perform tonight! Oh, the humanity, part two.

3. 90210
(new)
No, it's not the average number of people who watch a CW show. It's everyone's frothy fave from the 1990s, now all grown up and with a new cast of teen idols. Tonight, the program descript says Silver (pictured, right) and Teddy decide to spend the night together. Hi-yo, Silver!

CW, 8 p.m.

4. American Idol (new)
The remaining four finalists will perform songs from the movies. Oh, really? How about, They Shoot Horses Don't They? Adding to tonight's likely humiliation will be celebrity mentor Jamie Foxx who previously has viewed the post as celebrity drill instructor. Good luck, guys and gals.
Fox, 8 p.m.

5. NCIS (new)
Conservative media watchdog alert! The intrepid crew go south of the border to investigate a Marine's murder..

CBS, 8 p.m.

J.J. Abrams' favorite wackfest is back for its final season. Tonight, the program descript says Locke's motives are finally explained. Okay, the dead Locke? The smoke monster Locke? The cabinet lock? Lockheed Martin? Tough to follow this show, I have to say.
