6. Melrose Place
The network for the saucy set brings back another primetime soap from the 1990s. The basic ingredients here are the same -- lots of bitchy dialogue and bed hopping -- but the new hottie cast includes Katie Cassidy, Jessica Lucas, Stephanie Jacobsen and Ashlee Simpson. We thought Heather Locklear had moved out of the Melrose Place condo complex, but she's targeted for a November return. Laura Leighton is back as the landlord. She'll have her hands full; maybe literally in some episodes.
In tonight's episode, bisexual Ella (Cassidy) finds Lauren's (Jacobsen) expensive new clothing and an envelope of cash. Considering that Lauren is a hooker on the side, this is not exactly on par with the discovery of the Titanic on the ocean's floor. But it probably makes for a more interesting program for the CW audience.
CW, 9 p.m.
7. The Jay Leno Show (new)
Tonight's guests include
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger who could help us all by 'terminating' a few NBC execs while in town.
NBC, 10 p.m.
8. The Good Wife
Julianna Margulies stars as the wife of a scandal-plagued politician who must restart her career as a defense attorney after the hubbie is disgraced once again. Well, if she's looking to associate herself with a better class of people, it won't be in the courtroom, let me tell ya. Exhibit A: Tonight, the program descript says "Alicia agrees to a conjugal visit with Peter (the scandal-plagued politician) to get information from him because her client was convicted during his time as state's attorney."
CBS, 10 p.m.
9. The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien
Tonight's guests include the ubiquitous Neil Patrick Harris.
NBC, 11:35 p.m.
10. Late Night With David Letterman
Tonight's guests include former vice president Al Gore. What, no chicks? Not sure how the carnal-minded host will handle that.
CBS, 11:35 p.m.
