November 17: Swanni's 10 Hottest Shows In HDTV!

By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (November 17, 2009) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 40 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Tuesday, November 17, 2009: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are 4 of them!

1. College Basketball Doublheader
Binghamton at Pittsburgh, followed by Arkansas at Louisville.

ESPN 2,  5:30 p.m.

2. V
The Mouse Network dips into the dusty vault of past TV failures and unleashes a remake of the short-lived NBC 1980s sci-fi series featuring reptilian-like aliens disguised as humans. (So that explains the DMV). In tonight's episode,
FBI agent Erica (Elizabeth Mitchell from Lost) starts tracking a death threat.  Hmm, Erica seems to have a big role in V; does that mean Elizabeth Mitchell's character in Lost is dead for sure. Nah, no one in Lost is dead for sure. If V flops, she'll be Lost again, or something like that.
ABC, 8 p.m.

3. Dan Rather Reports
Conservative media watchdog alert! The veteran newsman tonight investigates how logging may be ruining
Madagascar. All those little animated characters from Disney aren't helping much either.
HDNet, 8 p.m.

4. 90210
(new)
No, it's not the average number of people who watch a CW show. It's everyone's frothy fave from the 1990s, now all grown up and with a new cast of teen idols. Tonight, the program descript says: "Richard catches Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord, pictured right) making out with Jamie." Something tells me that you could catch Naomi making out with almost anyone.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of 90201's AnnaLynne McCord.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of 90210's Shenae Grimes.
CW, 8 p.m.

Bonus Picks:
NCIS
The team's investigation into a military death is connected to a citywide power outage. I guess that leaves the investigators in the dark; or something like that.
CBS, 8 p.m.

The Bucket List
Jack Nicholson teams with the flawless Morgan Freeman as two cancer patients who decide to go out with style. The bittersweet comedy  features two great performances from arguably the era's most versatile actors.
HBO, 8:15 p.m.

5. Dancing With the Stars (new)
America's favorite dancing soap opera continues with a B celebrity lineup overflowing with has-beens and wanna-bes. Michael Irvin, Kathy Ireland, Tom 'The Hammer' Delay, Aaron Carter (who?) Natalie Coughlin, Debi Mazur, Chuck Liddell, Melissa Joan Hart, Louie Vito (who?) and Ashley Hamilton (George's feminine-sounding son) have gotten the boot, and tonight one of the remaining 4 contestants (Mya, Donny Osmond, Joanna Krupa and Kelly Osborne.) will be eliminated. Oh, the humanity! Oh yeah, Alicia Keys will stop by for a musical interlude too.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Joanna Krupa.
ABC, 9 p.m.

6. Melrose Place

The network for the saucy set brings back another primetime soap from the 1990s. The basic ingredients here are the same --  lots of bitchy dialogue and bed hopping -- but the new hottie cast includes Katie Cassidy, Jessica Lucas and Stephanie Jacobsen. We thought Heather Locklear had moved out of the Melrose Place condo complex, but she's back!

Tonight's program descript says David asks Lauren (Jacobsen) for a date. Hmm, does he know she's a prostitute? If he doesn't, it's going to cost him. Well, it will cost him either way, won't it?
CW, 9 p.m.

7. The Jay Leno Show (new)
Tonight's guests include Tyra Banks who will wander by to hawk her new skinny body.
NBC, 10 p.m.

8. The Good Wife
Julianna Margulies stars as the wife of a scandal-plagued politician who must restart her career as a defense attorney after the hubbie is disgraced once again. Well, if she's looking to associate herself with a better class of people, it won't be in the courtroom, let me tell ya. Exhibit A: Tonight's program descript says "Alicia (Margulies) gets ready to defend a scientist accused of arson." Must have been that bunsen burner; I almost burned down my high school science class with that thing.
CBS, 10 p.m.

9. The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien
Tonight's guests include Jane Lynch who will wander by to hawk her Fox sitcom, Glee.
NBC, 11:35 p.m.

10. Late Night With David Letterman
Tonight's guests include Penelope Cruz who will wander by to hawk her new film, Nine, and then she will tell the carnal-minded host that Nine is the only number he will get from her.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Penelope Cruz.
CBS, 11:35 p.m.
