Tuesday: Swanni's 10 Hottest Shows In HDTV!

Washington, D.C. (March 16, 2010) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 40 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

 Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Tuesday, March 16, 2010: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are 5 of them!

1. College Basketball Doubleheader
NIT tournament, first round; Teams TBA.
ESPN 2, 7 p.m.
2. College Basketball Play-In Game
Arkansas Pine Bluff vs. Winthrop; winner goes to the 64-team NCAA college tournament, which begins Thursday.
ESPN, 7:30 p.m.

3. 90210 (new)
 No, it's not the average number of people who watch a CW show. It's everyone's frothy fave from the 1990s, now all grown up and with a new cast of teen idols. And they're back with new episodes! Tonight, the program descript says Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord, pictured right) goes on a hike with Ivy and Liam. I bet she does.

 CW, 8 p.m.
4. American Idol (new)
 The 12 finalists warble some tunes by the Rolling Stones. Wonder if anyone will have the 'stones' to sing, You Can't Always Get What You Want.
 Fox, 8 p.m.

5. NCIS (new)
A Navy diver seeking a sunken treasure is murdered.
CBS, 8 p.m.

6. Lost (new)
J.J. Abrams' favorite wackfest is back for its final season. Tonight, Locke, aka The Smoke Monster, aka Evil Incarnate, has a special assignment for Sawyer, aka Smirky.

ABC, 9 p.m.

7. The Good Wife (new)
Conservative media watchdog alert! Julianna Margulies stars as the wife of a scandal-plagued politician who must restart her career as a defense attorney after the hubbie is disgraced once again. Tonight's program descript says Alicia (Margulies) will take on an unscrupulous health insurance company. Hey, just in time for the health care debate! Way to go, liberal writers and producers.
CBS, 10 p.m.

 

8. Parenthood (new)
Based on Ron Howard's 1989 movie, the new ensemble dramedy stars Lauren Graham, Peter Krause, Craig T. Nelson and Erika Christensen as Northern California yuppies who try to cope with life and, yes, parenthood.  And not necessarily in that order. Tonight, Max is kicked out of school; Sarah breaks up with Jim; and Crosby and Jabbar spend a day together. Jabbar? What, the Dad was a Laker fan?
NBC, 10 p.m.

9. Late Night With David Letterman (new)
Tonight's guests include Kirstie Alley who will wander by to hawk her new A&E Sunday night show, Kirstie Alley's Big Life.
 CBS, 11:35 p.m.

10. The Tonight Show With Jay Leno (new)
Tonight's guests include Hugh Jackman who will wander by to hawk any one of his dozen upcoming projects.
