Additionally, 71 percent of those surveyed said a higher
resolution for the set was equally important.
The poll results suggest that sales of large-screen 1080p HDTVs
could improve in the coming months. Thanks to the recession, in
the past year, most consumers have opted to buy sets with
smaller screens -- and smaller price tags.
“Demand for digital
television remains strong months after the end of analog
broadcasting,” said an NPD spokesman.
