Time Warner to Add NY1 HD
The channel offers news in the tri-state New York area.
By Swanni
NY1, a 24-hour channel owned by Time Warner, has been available to more than two million cable viewers in the New York area in standard-def.
The new high-def channel will appear on channel 701 on Time Warner's Woodside, Queens system.
It's unclear if and when Time Warner will add NY1 HD to other New York systems.
NY1's high-def offering follows a nationwide trend towards HD newscasts. More than 70 local stations now offer their local news programs in high-def.
