Swanni Rips DIRECTV, Comcast on Twitter!
TVPredictions.com
Washington, D.C. (March 1,
2010) --
Phillip Swann, aka Swanni, has
launched a
Twitter page
devoted to HDTV -- and he is generating considerable buzz for
his candid comments on everything from DIRECTV to Comcast to the
new 3-D TV industry.
Many of the posts will be exclusive to the 'Swanni On HD'
Twitter page and will not be published at TVPredictions.com or
in the daily Swanni Sez newsletter.
In the last week, Swanni's 'tweets' have covered several
controversial topics, including DIRECTV and Comcast's reluctance
to add new HD channels, the high cost of 3-D glasses and 3-D
HDTVs
Here are some of his recent tweets:
"Dish,
DIRECTV, Verizon to add Fox Soccer Plus on Monday -- but not in
HD. Soccer in standard-def; not exactly a 'Plus.'"
"Comcast's Xfinity ads keep saying it will mean 'more HD." Okay,
Comcast, when? Some Comcast markets still have fewer than 50 HD
channels."
"TiVo's deals with Comcast, Cox & DIRECTV aren't helping. The
partnerships have been in 'trial' longer than Judge Judy."
"If Dish Network was thinking, it would run an ad -- now! --
saying DIRECTV has added one HD channel in 18 months
"Samsung's 3d glasses will cost $150; will people buy glasses
more expensive than the ones they use to see & read?"
"Trade
group CEA says only 1m 3D sets will be shipped in 2010; said 4m
just last month. Has demand peaked already?"
