Washington, D.C. (October 23, 2008) -- Time Warner has expanded its High-Definition lineup in the Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island areas of New York to 83 channels.
The cable operator announced today that it has added 24 new high-def channels to reach that mark. The new channels include: Cartoon Network HD; FX HD; Speed HD; ESPNU HD; CBS College Sports HD; Bit Ten Network HD, NHL Network HD and the Tennis Channel HD.
Time Warner has also added several premium movie channels in HD, including channels from HBO, Cinemax, Encore and Showtime.
"By adding 24 new channels to our HD offerings, Time Warner Cable is an even better value for HD viewers," Howard Szarfarc, executive vice president of Time Warner's New York region.
Time Warner has promised to offer 100 high-def channels in the New York area by year's end. There was no word today on new channel launches in Manhattan.
