Panasonic Plasma Wins HDTV Shootout

-- The Panasonic 65-inch TC-P65VT50 Plasma HDTV has won the
Value Electronics' annual 'Best HDTV Shootout,' reports

For the last eight years, the Scarsdale, NY-based CE retailer
has pitted six of the best HDTVs against each other in a best picture
contest. The sets are placed on a stage, calibrated by top
technicians, and then voted on by event attendees who consist of
journalists, video enthusiasts and store customers.
After the votes were taken, the Panasonic VT50 came in first
with scores of 9 plus out of a possible 10 in four of the five
categories, which included black level, contrast ratio and color
accuracy. The Samsung PN64E8000 64-inch Plasma HDTV was second
with scores in the 8's for all five categories.
The other entrees were a Elite-Pro 60-inch LED/LCD; a LG 60-inch
Plasma HDTV; a Samsung 60-inch LED/LCD and a Panasonic 47-inch
LED.LCD HDTV.
