-- How would you like a 65-inch Plasma HDTV that can
display 1080p high-def video? Wouldn't that look nice on
your living room wall?
Well, pony up $20,000 -- okay, $19,995 to be exact.
Yes, Vidikron has launched a 65-inch 1080p Plasma monitor that carries a suggested retail price of $19,995. TWICE magazine reports that the flat-panel display has received THX certification and is believed to be the first Plasma of its size to deliver 1,920 by 1,080 (1080p) resolution.

Vidikron says the monitor uses 16-bit digital video processing which supposedly minimizes "solarization" found in some flat-panel sets. For those who didn't receive a Physics major, solarization is the temporary degrading of color when it's met with a high energy source.
What else do you get for your $20,000? Sorry, $19,995.
The company's branded IntelliWide mode and Imagiz video processing that enables you to watch standard definition 4:3 content in a widescreen format without losing picture quality.
Final note: Panasonic has a 65-inch Plasma HDTV for about half the price of the Vidikron model.
