HDTV Review: Vizio's 47-Inch 1080p LCD
CNET gives the flat-panel set a score of 6.6 out of a possible 10.
By Phillip Swann

Washington, D.C. (February 4, 2007) -- Vizio's new 47-inch 1080p HDTV is a "bargain" but trails similar-sized flat-panel sets in overall performance.

That's according to a review by CNET.com.

The technology web site says the LCD flat-panel set, which retails for around $1,899, is inexpensive for a 1080p LCD; delivers accurate primary colors; and offers "slick styling with touch-sensitive buttons."

However, it adds that the Vizio
GV47LF HDTV "produces relatively light color of black (and the) grayscale (is) somewhat blue even after adjustment."

CNET gives the set a score of 6.6 out of a possible 10.

"Although its image quality still can't compete with the Plasma competition, the 1080p (set) is a fine bargain for folks who wants an LCD TV."

CNET says the Vizio HDTV "held its own in the picture quality department."

But while playing a HD-DVD of Training Day, the Vizio GV47LF "showed the
folds of Denzel Washington's leather jacket and the shadows on his face during his final tirade looked slightly more realistic on the Plasma models than on (the) Vizio."
