Plasma TVs For Under $1,500?
Vizio breaks ground by
cutting prices on the popular flat-screen set.

Washington, D.C. (June 7, 2006) --
How much do you think a 42-inch Plasma HDTV cost these days?
$2,500? Maybe $2200 at a discount store?
Well, how about $1499?
That's right. Vizio, the Costa Mesa, CA-based company, has
rolled out a new line of low-cost Plasma HDTVs, including a
$1499 42-inch model and a $1999 50-inch set.
While other manufacturers are also dropping prices of Plasma and
other flat-screen sets, Vizio is taking the lead with its
aggressive pricing. Look for its rivals to follow suit as the
year progresses.
