Video Business Goes Out of Business

Washington, D.C. (January 8, 2010) -- Video Business, which has been covering the home video industry for 29 years, published its last issue this week.

The publication will also cease publishing updates at its web site, videobusiness.com.

Reed Business Information, the publication's owner, said the decision to close Video Business is part of a larger effort to divest itself of its business-to-business magazines.
 

“I’m extremely proud of the role VB has played in the home entertainment industry, consistently breaking news, while providing important analysis and insight to our readers for almost three decades,” Marcy Magiera, editor-in-chief and associate publisher of Video Business said in a closing statement at the publication's web site.. “Every staff member and regular contributor here is a first-class business journalist, and I will miss working with this smart, dedicated and caring group of people.”

Video Business will be sorely missed. I have been reading this fine publication (both print and online) for more than 20 years and it never once failed to enlighten and entertain me with an array of breaking stories, news features and timely research reports.

My best wishes to the VB staff and I hope they all go on to even greater things in their careers.
