Vudu Drops Price to $295
The set-top service offers high-def movies.

The service, which now offers roughly 70 High-Definition movies in its lineup, enables users to download movies over a high-speed Internet connection.
Vudu owners can rent or purchase movies via the Internet connection. Rental prices for new HD releases are $5.99 with $3.99 for older films.
The price drop follows Apple's announcement last week that it's lowering the price of its Apple TV set-top service to $229. Both services now offer high-def movies over Internet connections.
Vudu says that anyone who purchased a $399 Vudu set-top in the last 30 days can receive a $100 movie credit with proof of purchase.
In addition to hundreds of standard-def films, Vudu's lineup includes 70 HD titles such as Transformers, A Might Heart and Blades of Glory.
A recent Associated Press article said Vudu's high-def films take about four hours to download.
