Sylvester Stallone stars in this surprisingly effective drama about a mountain climber who's forced to help a murderous band of thieves. John Lithgow is deliciously evil as the obligatory deliciously evil top villain.

2. NBA Basketball
Detroit at Cleveland.
ESPN, 8 p.m.

3. Comet Collision
NASA tries shooting a spaceship at a comet. Nice to have hobbies, I guess.
Discovery's HD Theater, 8 p.m.

4. Explorer
The high-def cameras examine the onslaught of meth addiction.
National Geographic Channel, 8 p.m.

5. The L Word
It's a Full Moon -- and you know what that means for lesbians!
Showtime, 8 p.m.
