We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Wednesday, October 14, 2009: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are 6 of them!

1. Wanted
James McAvoy stars as a faceless bureaucrat who suddenly is transformed into a magical, bullet-curving assassin after being hijacked by Angelina Jolie. (Look out, Brad Pitt, she'll do it to you next.) The sci-fi drama is stuffed with great action scenes and McAvoy, Jolie and Morgan Freeman (as an obligatory wise, albeit mysterious, executive) make for a great cast. Fun movie.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Angelina Jolie.
HBO, 8 p.m.

2. College Football
Boise State at Tulsa.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Erin Andrews.
ESPN, 8 p.m.

4. Full Color Football: History of the AFL

Showtime, 8 p.m.

5. Mercy (new)
Taylor Schilling and Michelle
Trachtenberg star as nurses in this new drama that promises to look at hospital life through the eyes of the nurses. Tonight's program descript says: "Chloe (Michelle Trachtenberg) considers taking her crush on Dr. Sands to the next level." Well, once again, the show may be through the eyes of the nurses, but their eyes are trained on the guys.

6. Glee (new)
Fox's much-anticipated satire of high school glee clubs belts out episode number five. Tonight, the program descript says: "Sue forces the students to compete against one another in an attempt to cause dissension." Doesn't sound very gleeful, does it?
Fox, 9 p.m.

Bonus Pick:
Spider-man 3
Tobey Maguire stars as the webbed wonder who gets caught in his own web when his evil impulses take over in his quest to catch his uncle's killer. Kirsten Dunst is back as the obligatory hot on-and-off girlfriend and Elizabeth Banks gets a meatier role as a obligatory hot newsroom assistant.

Starz Edge, 9 p.m.

7. Criminal Minds
(new)
America's favorite hunting party of serial killers tonight go after a group of suspects who kill only for the thrill of it all. Well, don't be too hard on them. If it weren't for serial killers, I'm not sure CBS could fill out its primetime lineup.
CBS, 9 p.m.

8. The Jay Leno Show (new)
Tonight, Jay, better known as Jeff Zucker's Hail Mary Pass, chats up Bill Cosby.
NBC, 10 p.m.

Bonus Picks:

Bonus Pick:
Lakeview Terrace
Samuel L. Jackson plays a tormented policeman in this riveting Neil La Bute exploration of racism on both sides of the coin. The tension starts when a mixed racial couple moves in next door to Jackson and the old school cop doesn't like it one bit. LaBute does a great job of shifting sympathies from one character to the next, always keeping you guessing. Absorbing drama.
Starz, 10 p.m.

9. Late Night With David Letterman
Tonight's guests include Tina Fey. Be careful, Tina. The carnal-minded host might ask if you want to see his 30 Rock.

Tonight's guests include Serena Williams. Don't disagree with her, Conan. On anything.
