October 21: Swanni's 10 Hottest Shows In HDTV!

Washington, D.C. (October 21, 2009) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 40 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Wednesday, October 21, 2009: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are 3 of them!

1. Seven Pounds
Will Smith shines as a mysterious benefactor who tries to fix the lives of seven total strangers. Rosario Dawson plays his obligatory hot girlfriend while Woody Harrelson and Barry Pepper are strong in support. Good movie that will keep you guessing until the end.

Starz West, 7:50 p.m.

2. College Football
Tulsa at Texas El-Paso.

ESPN, 8 p.m.

3. The Ultimate Trailer Show (new)
Texas-based film critic Robert Wilonsky tonight reviews trailers for  upcoming films, including Pirate Radio (Philip Seymour Hoffman.)
HDNet, 8 p.m.

4. MLB Baseball Playoffs
Dodgers at Phillies in game five; the Phils can win the series with a victory tonight.
TBS, 8 p.m.

5. Mercy (new)
Taylor Schilling and Michelle
Trachtenberg star as nurses in this new drama that promises to look at hospital life through the eyes of the aforementioned female assistants. Tonight's program descript says: "Sonia helps a sleepwalking patient." Hopefully it's not a member of the viewing audience.

NBC, 8 p.m.

Ong Bak 2: The Beginning
A 15th Century man uses the martial arts to avenge the murder of his parents.
HDNet Movies, 8 p.m.

6. Glee (new)
Fox's much-anticipated satire of high school glee clubs belts out episode number six. Tonight, the program descript says: "Will composes a mash-up for a special occasion." It's not what you think.
Fox, 9 p.m.

7. Criminal Minds (new)
America's favorite hunting party of serial killers tonight go after a nut case
who impregnates young women, has them give birth and then murders them. Except for the murder part, I think Shawn Kemp would be perfect for the role. (Come on, NBA fans, you get the joke, right?)
CBS, 9 p.m.

8. The Jay Leno Show (new)
Tonight, Jay, better known as Jeff Zucker's Hail Mary Pass, chats up The Office's Rainn Wilson. Once again: You know you need a new agent when your show's title has to come before your name so people will know who you are.
NBC, 10 p.m.

Eastwick
The ladies are hot tonight in this new series based on the Jack Nicholson movie, Witches of Eastwick. Program descript: "Roxie  (Rebecca
Romijn) and Mia find themselves in an embarrassing predicament." Well, that has possibilities.

9. Late Night With David Letterman
Tonight's guests include Paul McCartney and Bruce Willis. What, no chicks, Dave? Are you losing your touch?

Tonight's guests include Jennifer Aniston who will wander by to hawk her latest film, Love Happens.

NBC, 11:35 p.m.
