By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (December 24, 2008) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 30 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Wednesday, December 24, 2008: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are six of them!

1. College Football
Hawaii vs. Notre Dame in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.

ESPN, 8 p.m.

2. Bones (repeat)
Program descript: "
Three days before Christmas the body of a bearded man in a tailor-made Santa outfit turns up in a sewer; Brennan visits her father in prison and plots a nontraditional holiday reunion." Man, who's producing this show? The ACLU?
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Bones' Emily Deschanel.
Fox, 8 p.m.

3. The Chronicles of Narnia
Children join forces with a lion mystic to remove the White Witch's wintry spell. Bet the Midwest would like to hire these people.
ABC, 8 p.m.

4. The Ultimate Trailer Show
Tonight, Texas-based film critic Robert Wilonsky reviews the trailers for the big holiday releases, including
Valkyrie (Tom Cruise), The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Brad Pitt), Marley & Me (Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson) and Bedtime Stories (Adam Sandler.)
HDNet, 8 p.m.

5. Night at the Museum
Ben Stiller stars in this frothy farce about a night watchman who works at an historical museum where the exhibits come to life. Owen Wilson, Dick Van Dyke and Mickey Rooney pitch in with nice supporting performances. Carla Gugino plays his obligatory hot girlfriend of interest.

6. Friday Night Lights (repeat)
TV's best drama is back -- exclusively on DIRECTV's channel 101. (Episodes will air in January on NBC.) Tonight, catch up with an early season episode with Tyra chasing Cash (a guy, not the currency) while Coach Taylor struggles over who should be QB1.

DIRECTV, channel 101, 9 p.m.

7. Inside the NFL
JB and the crew review the week's big games.
Showtime, 9 p.m.

8. CSI: NY (repeat)
Program descript: "The team must determine if the streets of New York are safe when a man accused of being the Cabbie Killer is found dead." So long as there still cabbies on the streets of New York, I don't think you can really discuss being safe, can you?
CBS, 10 p.m.

9. Charlie Wilson's War
Tom Hanks stars as the real-life Texas congressman who spent the 1980s juggling a bevy of beautiful babes while secretly supplying arms to the anti-Russian resistance movement in Afghanistan. As an ex-newspaper reporter who 'covered' Wilson during this period (yes, I'm that old.), Hanks does a masterful job of capturing the essence of  'Goodtime Charlie,' Julia Roberts plays a Wilson girlfriend/fundraiser while Amy Adams is his obligatory hot administrative assistant. (And Wilson had a lot of obligatory hot congressional assistants in his office.)
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Amy Adams.

HBO, 10 p.m.

10. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
TNT serves up a midnight helping of Angelina Jolie as the video game hero Lara Croft who slays men with deadly weapons and even deadlier good looks. (Purple prose alert!) Look for Daniel Craig (the new James Bond) in a supporting role.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Angelina Jolie.

TNT, Midnight.
